The Greek Chapter of the Institute for Global Maritime Studies is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to improving perceptions and awareness of a wide range of maritime aspects, as well as to support students in their maritime academic pursuits.
History
The Institute for Global Maritime Studies grew out of the Maritime Studies Program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Professor John Curtis Perry, being at the time Director of the Maritime Studies Program at the Fletcher School, was the initiator of above idea; to create an institute that will facilitate maritime studies.
The Institute for Global Maritime Studies Greek Chapter was the first affiliated institute outside US; the Greek board shares the same passion and spirit. In an era of challenges, Greece being in the epicenter of a global turmoil, IGMS GrC is dedicated to support exceptional individuals to further their maritime studies.
